About Battleborn Void Wallpaper
The origin story of this Battleborn Wallpaper is that i got pitch the idea to rework the Windows 10 default wallpaper design and make it more Battleborn. The simple version was to add some heroes into the windows logo, but i took the overal design and transformed it into the artwork you see above. But this only was possible after Gearbox Software changed the logo on the game, because the original letter ‘O’ in Battleborn was a “basic” circle. Since the new redesign of the Battleborn Logo the letter ‘O’ turned into a icon itself. Thereby i could use it as an distinctive logo just like the Vault Symbol in Borderlands.
The first draft of this wallpaper a bit more plain. It also had the hi-tech background texture that i created. But once i had the basics down i started layering more details in. It wasn’t just a glowing icon in a foggy environment. As the inspiration already came from an window logo i started creating a doorway into another dimension. It became like a portal and on the other side you could see the last stars of this dying universe. As i started enhancing the glow on my Battleborn Icon and 2K Games released some new details on the background story of the game. One thing stuck with me and has let to some speculation is the Void. In the gameplay trailers of Battleborn you can see the Varelsi coming from the void by these portals. A blackhole with some purple glow around them and this is something i put into this Battleborn Wallpaper. The color purple and the scrambled texture and as we are talking Varelsi i added some into the scene.
