Do Borderlands 4 Bandits Embrace the Flame?

Borderlands 4 New Bandit Weapon

Will the Bandit weapon in Borderlands 4 receive a new weapon gimmick after the events from Borderlands 3? Because we see an image of the Children of the Vault during the credits. The image suggests that after the fall of Troy & Tyreen Calypso, they are now the Children of the Firehawk.

Does this mean that the COV weapons are now going to be branded as COF and receive a new weapon manufacturer trait?

Firehawk Worshipers

COV weaponry in Borderlands 3 already embraces a fire mechanic because they overheat when you fire them for too long. Having the weapons overheat replaces the conventional weapon reload mechanic that is based on magazine size. It’s not only on brand for the bandits but a weapon bursting out in flames would also be a tribute to the Firehawk.

There was already a “Cult of the Firehawk” in Borderlands 2, so it wouldn’t be the first time that Lilith gets worshiped. Having a giant Firehawk sign engraved on the moon also helps the bandits with a spiritual focal point.

Flame of the Firehawk

There are a few flamethrowers in Borderlands 3, however, they aren’t really the go-to weapons for most Vault Hunters. If Borderlands 4 would boost these weapon types and embraces melee weapons like Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, a more close-up combat loop can be established.

There is a legendary shield called “Flame of the Firehawk” in Borderlands 2 that constantly triggers fire novas when the shield is depleted. This item was beloved by many players as you could force it and wreck a lot of enemies with it. A similar shield could return in Borderlands 4 because you know what they say; “Keep your friends close but your enemies closer”.

The Elemental Weapon Damages have always been the same across the various weapon manufacturers. It doesn’t matter if you use a Dahl, Vladof, or COV weapon, their elemental damages are all equally effective. What if the Bandit weapons were superior with incendiary damage? Jakobs weaponry is unmatched in raw non-elemental damage and Maliwan could master the other elements.

I’m really curious about what you think of this. Will the Bandit weapons get a new gimmick and what would it be? Let me know your opinion in the comments below or tag @MentalMars on social media.
