Borderlands 1 was criticized for its lack of color variety as most of the game took place in dusty brown environments. They joked about it with the release of Borderlands 2 and added way more color to the series.
Having that said the original Borderlands still does have beautiful locations as still a lot of time was spent on the art design of the game.
With this new Borderlands wallpaper series, I’m going to showcase some of the locations present in the game, while featuring one of your favorite Vault Hunter or Claptrap.
Because Roland, Lilith, Mordecai & Brick all have a class assigned to them like; “the Soldier” or “the Siren” I thought it would be fun to give Claptrap one as well. Therefore I gave Claptrap the class ‘Oracle’ as that was his intended function for the game. Randy Pitchford, CEO of Gearbox Software, mentioned this during an Inside Gearbox Panel.
Another thing I added is a feature that was actually introduced with Borderlands 2. With the first game, you couldn’t tell if one of your co-op buddies was checking out their skill tree. You would just see them standing if they were AFK.
With Borderlands 2 Gearbox added a visual indicator in front of the player looking at their menu display. I took this idea and implied this with the Borderlands 1 HUD. But instead of placing it in front of the player, I placed it behind the Vault Hunter so it converted better to this media, otherwise, it would obscure the prominence of the Vault Hunter on the wallpaper.
