So Battleborn has a wide range of 25 playable characters and Gearbox will be adding even more heroes as free downloadable content. All these characters have a huge amount of dialogue because of the character specific interactions with each other. Some heroes are friend and others not so, your hero will say and react differently to all these individual characters. Another thing that ups the amount of dialogue is the variation of lines delivered in the Story Missions. As the events in the game stay the same the way things are being said are different and also can change because of the hero you are currently playing. The script in Battleborn has a good humor to it and the large amount of variations possible makes playing the same mission over and over again less repetitive. I think most of us have played a game and died half way during the mission that results in going back to that checkpoint and listen to the same dialogue over and over again that you know when the game triggers certain events. These kinds of things can get a bit annoying, but with Battleborn i’m having the oppassite reaction. Because some lines are so funny and delivered excellently you want to experience that part again. But your next playthrough could possible deliver one of the many other options, which has led to me playing the mission over and over again.
Besides telling you about the wide variety of dialogue i also would like to tell you who are behind these performances. I have been seeing people ask: “Who did the Voice of Rath?” , “Rath sounds like Vegeta (Dragonball Z)”, Oscar Mike reminds me of the Dahl respawn station from Borderlands”. Yes Gearbox Software did hire some of the same voice actors that they also work with them on Borderlands. Some are more obvious and others you would not expect.
