The Director’s Cut is the sixth major add-on for Borderlands 3. It officially released on April 8th, 2021, and is part of Season Pass 2.

The Director’s Cut enhances Borderlands 3 by adding a Raid Boss, Murder Mystery Missions, Vault Cards, Skins, and Behind-the-Scenes Content.

Borderlands 3: Director’s Cut Content

Borderlands 3 Director’s Cut features the following content:

Raid Boss

Hemivorous the Invincible is a gigantic Varkid Raid Boss, designed for the end game to challenge you as a player and your character build as it will scale from LVL35 to Max Level.

You are in for a surprise when you battle against Hemivorous the Invincible on Mayhem 8 or higher.

Murder Mystery Missions

Ava’s Murder Mysteries is a series of side missions where you and Ava investigate several mysterious events throughout the galaxy. This journey starts as a little tryout podcast series and ends in an epic battle filled with lore leading towards Borderlands 4.

New locations open up on Pandora, Promethea, Eden-6, and Nekrotafeyo letting you experience the following missions.

1. Mysteriouslier: Murder on Eschaton Row
2. Mysteriouslier: The Vanishing of Hizzen Mays
3. Mysteriouslier: Ghosts of Karass Canyon
4. Mysteriouslier: Horror at Scryer’s Crypt

Vault Cards

Vault Cards add a bounty system to the game by providing daily and weekly challenges and offering new rewards by simply playing the game. The unlockable loot includes cosmetics, emotes, room decorations, legendary weapons, and Diamond Keys for the Armory.

The Director’s Cut contains 3 unique Vault Cards, containing 28 rewards each.

The COV Alternative Universe Cosmetics are part of The Borderlands 3 Director’s Cut. These cosmetic items include heads and skins but introduce new body types for each Vault Hunter. Gearbox Software even gave these COV Alternative Universe Cosmetics their own lore “What if; these Vault Hunters joined the COV”.
