Echo-4

Borderlands 4 Echo-4

Echo-4 is a Dahl companion robot that assists you on your Vault hunting journey and helps navigate the expansive world in Borderlands 4. Echo-4 can collect the quest rewards for you, so you don’t have to backtrack. You can customize this little robot with silly hats and more.

Navigating Kairos

Borderlands 4 Echo-4 Waypoint

Echo-4 can help you locate your next objective as it can scan the area and highlight the best path across Kairos. You can simply summon Echo-4 with the press of a button, and they will display a path to your waypoint in the environment for you to follow.

My son was happy to see this new feature when I showed him the Borderlands 4 presentation. He expressed that he occasionally struggled with finding out where to go. I think that the new traversal mechanics also allow for more verticality in the level design, and people might get stuck as they overlook certain routes. ECHO-4’s visual path can assist players who need that bit of guidance, but I think that level design can also enhance the Vault Hunter’s experience as you have to discover the world, and it becomes an adventurous journey.

Hacking The Order Tech

Borderlands 4 Echo-4 Hacking

Echo-4 can assist you with hacking Order-Tech and claiming control over Silos and Safe Houses. These points of interest will then provide a Fast-Travel point and vending machines.

Silos are points of interest you can discover on the map. You don’t need to collect a quest beforehand to unlock these outposts.

Ammo-Capacity

ECHO-4 allows you to upgrade your ammo-carrying capacity on the fly by navigating to the SDU section in your ECHO menu in Borderlands 4.

Upgrading your ammo capacity was previously done with money at Marcus Munitions in Borderlands 3 and with Eridium at Crazy Earl’s Black Market in Borderlands 2.

Quick Change

ECHO-4 lets you change your Vault Hunter’s cosmetic appearance no matter where you are by navigating to the Cosmetics section in your ECHO menu in Borderlands 4.

Changing your character’s appearance was previously done at Quick Change stations in previous Borderlands games.
