Borderlands 4 allows you to replay missions and bosses with Moxxi’s Big Encore Machine. This new gameplay mechanic makes Save-Quitting a thing from the past as you can now simply flip a switch to experience that moment again.
This makes farming bosses for their dedicated loot drop a lot easier and something you can do with friends. In previous Borderlands games, you lost your co-op buddies when you went back to the main menu, and they would need to join your lobby again.
Moxxi’s Big Encore Machine should also make Quest Rewards easier to obtain again. In previous Borderlands games, you had to replay the Story Campaign all over again in True or Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode unless you were on PC and did some read-only farming or installed a community mod to reroll quest rewards.
Some Borderlands fans are not convinced about the load/reset times, and Joltzdude expressed that by creating a mockup, but Antony Nickoslon – Head of Borderlands 4 Development – assures that Moxxi’s Big Encore Machine only takes a fraction of the time that was shown in the example and is much faster than Save-Quitting.
We haven’t seen Moxxi’s Big Encore Machine in action, but I’ll update this article once we learn more about this new gameplay mechanic.
