You can purchase Storage Deck Upgrades (SDU) directly from ECHO-4 in Borderlands 4. Upgrading your SDUs requires a new type of currency, which you can obtain by completing activities and gathering collectibles.
Storage Deck Upgrades are tied to your Vault Hunter and not your Profile; this means you have to upgrade them for every character. Borderlands 4’s Creative Director states, “The game is balanced such that you’ll have plenty of inventory even if you have no interest in finding/doing everything.” Graeme continues, “You will need to complete activities/ find collectibles to unlock every SDU expansion; however, the game is balanced such that you’ll unlock most space very quickly, and I suspect some won’t finish everything and still feel like the inventories they cared about expanded to max.”
