Borderlands 3 Year 2 Confirmed
Borderlands 3 Year 2 Confirmed

Year 2 is upon us as Gearbox Software and 2K Games just announced that Borderlands 3 will get a second season pass. They will be adding more content to the game. This holiday we can expect DLC 5, called the Designer’s Cut, and in spring 2021 we can expect DLC 6, called the Director’s Cut. This and more will be coming to Borderlands 3 over the next year. Season Pass 2 will be available for purchase starting November 10 across PC, Stadia, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X / Series S.

Designer’s Cut

DLC 5 is called the Designer’s Cut, this includes the brand new game mode and new skill trees for each of the Vault Hunters.

Skill Trees

Each of the Vault hunters will get a new skill tree including a new action skill. We already got a glimpse of these during one of the trailers shown at Gearbox’s Digital Showcase. Zane looks to have a shoulder Cannon, Amara punches a Cryo orb onto the field, Moze calls upon a mini-Iron Bear, and FL4K gets to use a gravity snare. Want to learn more about the new action skills tune in on:

October 20, 9:00 AM PT – Amara and FL4K new Skill Tree reveals with Borderlands Creator Team livestreams;
October 22, 9:00 AM PT – Moze and Zane new Skill Tree reveals with Borderlands Creator Team livestreams;

Arms Race

The new standalone game more for Borderlands 3 is called Arms Race. Randy Pitchford referred to it as having Battle Royale-like elements to it but it’s not a Battle Royale Game. I’m excited to find out more about this. It looks like we won’t have to wait very long to see Arms Race in action because:

October 29, 9:00 AM PT – A new episode of The Borderlands Show premieres, featuring the new Arms Race mode, developer interviews, and much more;
October 30, 9:00 AM PT – The Bordercast streams the very first live play-through of Arms Race, with special guests.

Director’s Cut

It’s unclear what this DLC will bring us at the moment, but Gearbox Software and 2K Games have a brand new episode of the Borderlands Show lined up for us on October 29th. I expect we will get more information there.
