Borderlands the Pre-Sequel SHiFT Codes for Golden Keys

Gearbox Software added their famous Golden Skeleton Chest to Borderlands The Pre-Sequel. You can redeem the SHiFT Codes that are listed below to obtain Golden Skeleton Keys in the game, which are required to open up this Loot Chest.

You can redeem these SHiFT Codes in the Game, Official Borderlands Site, or on the SHiFT Site. If done correctly they will show up in your inventory. The Borderlands the Pre-Sequel Golden Keys are shared over your Vault Hunters and can only be used once. Use Claptrap’s Secret Storage to transfer gear to your other Vault Hunters if it is better suited for that character.

You can find the Golden Chest in Concordia and use your Golden Keys on it. The chest provides you with high-quality loot with the chance of giving Legendary Loot!

SHiFT Codes are loyalty rewards for the Borderlands community and new codes are added on a frequent basis so check back if you need a new batch of Golden Keys.

What are Golden Keys

Just like Borderlands 2, the Pre-Sequel is also using the SHIFT system to add in-game bonuses within the Game. With Borderlands the Pre-Sequel, you are able to add Golden keys to your Vault Hunters inventory.

With these Golden Keys, you are able to open a Golden Chest in the center of Concordia, the game’s main story hub city.

If you unlock the chest with one of your Golden Keys you will get some quality loot. The items inside are always random but mostly rare items will be given.

How do I redeem SHiFT Codes?

There are 3 ways you can redeem SHiFT Codes

While the Borderlands website itself is pretty popular for redeeming codes due to the VIP Codes. However, the site sometimes has some hiccups. So it’s possible you are not able to redeem a new code or it mentions you don’t have “platform x” linked to your account. If that’s the case try the SHiFT site as it’s more stable but redeeming codes in-game is the safest bet.

There is always the possibility that an individual code gives issues with your account. This could be a one-time thing. If you keep encountering these or some other sort of issues there might be a solution to your problem in the knowledge base or you can submit a ticket.

How do I redeem Codes in-Game?

On the main menu of Borderlands the Pre-Sequel there is a “extras” menu. Here you can select “SHIFT CODES”, this will prompt a menu for you to enter the codes in order to acquire the Golden Keys.

Once you have found Concordia the main hub town in Borderlands the Pre-Sequel. In the center of the town is a SHIFT vending machine. Here you can add your “SHIFT CODES” on the second tab.

Where are my Golden Keys?

Once you redeemed your SHIFT CODES the given amount of Golden Keys will be available on the first menu tab of the SHIFT vending machine in Concordia. You can grab the keys with any character that’s able to reach Concordia.

Yes, the monthly codes do expire. If it says [Active through XX/XX] that is the expiration date. If it’s undated it’s very possible it is still valid except for some of the holiday event codes as they’ve recently implemented expiration dates on those.

Hey is there a way we can get some more shift codes for the unique weapons in the shift mahcine on Concordia? I saw alot of streamers with guns in there and they said it was shift codes but those were expired

  They stopped sharing them for a while. However, they are looking into bringing them back. I collected a bunch of comments and emails and sent them to 2K with some data from my site as fans have been checking out the shift code pages day in day out but being disappointed. There are several thousands of views each day for these codes and that’s just on my site. I’m doing my best to advocate for the community. So hopefully they will soon return.
