Gearbox Software & 2K Games have just announced the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack: The Holodome Onslaught for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. This is the second downloadable content that’s part of the season pass. The first Borderlands the Pre-Sequel DLC was being able to play as (handsome) Jack’s body double in the Doppelganger pack 😉 This Borderlands add-on brings the following goodies:
Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode
Ultimate Vault Hunter mode is a third playthrough of Borderlands the Pre-Sequel. After completing true vault hunter mode you unlock UVHM. This feature will be added as a patch for all Borderlands the Pre-Sequel players next week.
Get ready to test your might, because all enemies will scale to your level. Also, you will be able to reset your campaign progress at any time, this way you can replay the story over and over again and collect the badass mission loot.
- Regular enemies will receive a 1.5x health multiplier and 1.5x shield multiplier
- Badass enemies will receive a 2.5x health multiplier and 3.5x shield multiplier
- Enemies are now more likely to drop ammo, plus enemies and chests will give you better gear than in other playthroughs
- Elemental weapons will also be more effective, as will gear with elemental resistance
The Holodome Onslaught
Axton (the Commando) and Gaige (the Mechromancer) from Borderlands 2 make their return to Crimson Raider HQ. They just got back from a mission so Axton & Gaige missed out on the great story that is Borderlands the Pre-Sequel.
Just like Tiny Tina that wanted to hear the story again but only these impatient vault hunters only want the awesome badass stuff. So Athena tells the story through The Holodome Onslaught, a challenging arena where you will fight waves of enemies, including some new ones.
But when there are new challenges there is new loot. During your quest, you will be able to earn some new weapons, new class mods, and some radical new heads and skins to customize your character.
And talking about that loot one of the new weapons is the Berrigan, a Vladof rocket launcher with a Tediore barrel. The Berrigan is named by Brad Sierzega, Level Artist, as the Holodome was being wrapped up some New Legendaries were being added to the DLC.
At that time he lost a good friend, a friend who liked to have the upper hand in the game. So the most powerful weapon was named after John Berrigan (R.I.P.). The Berrigan fires 6 consecutive rockets for the price of 1. Red Text “Your gun is good, but mine is better!”
Now that the Holodome onslaught has been released, I took a look over all the new Holodome loot that is present inside this DLC.
Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack
As extra bonus content Gearbox Software raises the level cap of Borderlands the Pre-Sequel from level 50 to level 60. This gives you 10 extra levels to grind through and also gives you 10 extra skill points to further spec into your character’s skill trees.
Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack: The Holodome Onslaught will be available on December 16, 2014. If you picked up the Season Pass you get this DLC for free, but if you just want this add-on it’s $9,99. The Holodome Onslaught will feature some new achievements/trophies.

- Stronger! Smarter!Complete the Badass Round of The Holodome.
