Nintendo showed that they have a lot of 3rd party publisher support for the Nintendo Switch. Take-Two Interactive is on that list and since 2K Games – the publisher of the Borderlands Games – is a subsidiary of that company, you can ask yourself if Gearbox Software is developing Borderlands 3 for the Nintendo Switch.
Randy Pitchford, President of Gearbox Software, stated on Twitter that they aren’t a priority for Nintendo at the moment. Gearbox Software was in touch with the Big-N, however, communication stopped for some reason and they don’t see Borderlands 3 coming to that platform.
The Nintendo Switch looks really great and I think a lot of folks would love to play a Borderlands game on the go, as you can carry that system with you. There is a reason why Borderlands 2 was ported to the PlayStation Vita. While that game didn’t run smoothly, there is a market for these experiences.
Fingers crossed that Gearbox Software and Nintendo resume communications and that we will see our beloved franchise on the Nintendo Switch.
