Gearbox Software announced that it is removing the EchoCast Twitch Extension from Borderlands 3. The Borderlands 3 Echocast was a groundbreaking feature as this Twitch extension delivered a whole new way for streamers and viewers to interact with each other. After today, you won’t be able to use its features to interact with your community or favorite streamers. This means that you won’t be able to check the streamer’s build, get loot from red chest events, become a viewer badass, and more.
The ECHOcast Twitch Extension will be removed from Twitch today, December 8, 2023.
We are proud to have had the opportunity to connect you all with Borderlands 3 in a different way for the past few years. Thank you to all of the streamers and viewers that used the tool with their communities.

I hope that Gearbox Software will develop a new Twitch Extension with their future games because it is a great way for streamers and the community to interact with each other. I still would like to see a Slaughterdome where the community controls the enemy waves and chooses the challenges the streamer has to overcome.
During episode 5 of Echoes From the Borderlands, it was mentioned that the ECHOcast was forward thinking and they (Gearbox Software) should do more like that. Therefore, I’m hopeful that we will see something similar in the future.
