Gearbox Software and 2K Games announced a Borderlands 4 Hands-On event directly after their exclusive Borderlands 4 State of Play event, and the date was confirmed during Gearbox Software’s Main theater Show at PAX East.
The Borderlands 4 Fan Fest takes place on June 21, 2025, in Downtown LA, and some of your favorite creators will attend the event and live stream the game.

What to expect
The exclusive Borderlands 4 State of Play mostly showcased Vex while Rafa tagged along. The PAX Panel went a bit deeper into Vex’s skills. I think the Borderlands Fan Fest will allow fans to play as Vex or Rafa, and we get to learn a lot more about these two Vault Hunters.

I was invited to the Borderlands 3 Gameplay reveal event in 2019 and to each Vault Hunter’s hands-on event. I haven’t been invited for a Borderlands 4 Hands-On yet, but I’ll keep you posted if that happens. I would be honored if it happens, but we have to wait and see if it’s in the cards this time, but Gamescom sounds more likely.
