The exclusive Borderlands 4 State of Play event contained an action-packed trailer showcasing the new playable Vault Hunters causing chaos on Kairos. Now you can enjoy that trailer in full glory!
The Borderlands 4 Trailer starts off with the Timekeeper questioning, “What use is a Vault Hunter?” while we see Vex, The Siren, and her companion attack a bunch of Psychos. As one enemy flies through the air, the scene switches to the next Vault Hunter, and as the enemy lands on the ground, it gets stepped on by Amon, who runs towards the danger and deflects incoming bullets with his shield. As our warrior jumps in the air, ready to attack his opponents, we get this zoomed-out shot showcasing a giant monster accompanied by several psychos.
In the next scene, we see Harlowe charge one of her gadgets and trap an incoming enemy in a sphere, which she then quickly lifts up in the air and slams into the ground. Fun fact: Gearbox Software has such an augment in place for Maya’s Phaselock in Borderlands 2, however, her skill tree was reworked, and the augment got replaced with the mind control ability.
The next shot showcases character customization as Rafa gains a whole new look. You can find several Character Customization examples on the dedicated Vault Hunter pages. The trailer continues with action-packed gameplay showcasing several weapons and abilities.
The gameplay trailer ends with the newly announced release date of September 12, 2025. Gearbox Software is confident about their game as Borderlands 4 is releasing two weeks earlier than initially announced.
Next stop is PAX East 2025, where the GBX Devs will take another deep dive into Borderlands 4 and prepare for a hands-on event in June 2025.
