The Borderlands Movie has hit theaters worldwide and has made an impression on its audience – you can read my Borderlands Movie Review. One of the most Borderlands things in the movie happened during the end credits because this replicated the familiar Borderlands title cards for the main cast. However, there was a small detail that caught people’s eye during this visual presentation.
No, it’s not that the big bad psycho with the Mouthpiece mask was called Krom as he wasn’t introduced in the movie. The interesting detail appeared during the splash screen of the movie’s title with the Eridian Vault in the background.
If you look closely at the letter A in the name Borderlands, you notice that it’s overlapping with the letter L. This small adjustment makes the letter A look like the number 4, as in BORDERL4NDS.
Is Gearbox Studios secretly hinting at Borderlands 4 in the movie credits? Fans have speculated before the movie’s release that the Borderlands film would be a great kick-off to the Borderlands 4 marketing campaign.

I can say as someone who has worked in design, there’s never a reason to overlap letters like this unless you do it with EVERY letter

Personally, I could see this as them removing some negative space, however, that hasn’t bothered them in any of their other marketing material.
