Introducing the Character Classes
In Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, you will play a Multiclass hero that you can fully customize to your heart’s desire. Meaning that the look of the characters that you see in the trailer isn’t representative of the classes.
The classes only determine the abilities of your multiclass hero. At the start of the game, you can choose your primary class and once you are halfway through the game, you gain the ability to select a secondary class.
Today, Gearbox Software and 2K Games reveal the first two classes in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands.
Stabbomancer
The Stabbomancer class specializes in sneaky melee combat. With its two action skills, you can deal Area of Attack damage or become invisible for a sneak attack.
Ghost Blade
This magic spell will spawn a giant dual-blade at the targeted area where it will spin around and deal AoE damage. Judging from the footage, you can relocate the magical blade multiple times. I assume the Ghost Blade has a specific duration time and while it’s active you can reposition it. If it works on “charges” you lose the previous Ghost Blade when activating the new one.
From the Shadows
This magic spell makes you invincible and increases your damage while you are in stealth mode. Judging from the footage, you don’t directly go out of stealth mode when attacking. It’s unsure if the duration is based on a limited number of attacks or time. I can see the Stabbomancer having a “backstab” skill in its tree to boost damage dealt from behind.
Brr-Zerker
The name Brr-Zerker is a cool reference to the Berzerker from Borderlands, however, the way it’s currently spelled lets you know this class is specialized in Cryo damage (Ice Ice Baby). The ax you are carrying around also has ice picks on the back.
Feral Surge
Feral Surge lets you leap towards enemies and deal massive damage as you slam your giant ax into them. This attack deals Cryo Damage and releases a Cryo Nova on impact. This skill reminded me of the Pound attack from Attikus in Battleborn. It was a great skill to close the gap and immediately start dealing damage. While you jump into close range with this attack, you also deal Cryo damage, which will slow down or completely freeze your opponents. This gives you the advantage to finish it off with a badass shotgun for example.
Dreadwind
Dreadwind is your ‘spin to win’ attack. Your character will pick up their mighty ice ax and start spinning it around. As you can slam the enemies around the camera goes into 3rd person mode. During Dreadwind you still have some control over your movement and you can plot a course. Enemies that are hit by your ax are dealt with Cryo Damage while the ground underneath them will also freeze. This skill reminded me of Rath from Battleborn. His Ultimate skill was also a ‘spin to win’ attack called Dreadwind.
Opinion
It is cool to get a preview of the character classes in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. The action skills that are shown in this trailer look fun.
Stealth is always a fan favorite skill great for sneak attacks but can also be utilized as a panic button when you are low on health.
The magic spinning blade looks fun and you want to activate it in the middle of a group. In the other trailer, we saw a gesture that moved the location of this blade. I wonder if that’s an augment and it actually works on charges or a duration time.
The skills of the Brr-Zerker were really fun to use in Battleborn. I can see the leap smash attack test friendships as you jump ahead into a fight. It would be something my son would definitely do. I’m curious to see if Joltz will use the leap of ‘The Skip, dude’.
I didn’t see a lot of secrets in this trailer. That Luck Dice looked different.
