Florian Munteanu is cast to play Krieg the psycho in the upcoming Borderlands Movie. Florian ‘Big Nasty’ Munteanu is a professional heavyweight boxer that previously played Viktor Drago in the movie ‘Creed II‘. Due to the success of that movie, he got noticed by Marvel, who then cast him as Razor Fist in the movie Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings which is set to release on July 9, 2021.
Florian brings real humanity and multiple layers to a character who on the surface seems totally insane and brutally savage, Krieg was by far the most difficult role to cast, and Florian brought him to life and grounded him in a way that I didn’t know was possible. He’s going to be a brilliant Krieg and will fit in perfectly with our incredible cast.

In the Borderlands movie, Florian Munteanu will play Krieg, the musclebound, rhetorically challenged protector of Tiny Tina. In the Borderlands games, we know Krieg as the psycho that helps out the Vault Hunters and that he actually has 2 voices in his head. 1 calm sane voice that can articulate very well and 1 psycho voice that screams whatever comes up in his mind.
It seems that more Borderlands characters from the second game are being cast for the movie. This makes me curious about the story. Will they cherry-pick the best parts from Borderlands 1 and 2, will this movie be about the rise and fall of Handsome Jack? I kinda hope they do cast Ryan Reynolds as Jack but we will have to wait and see.
