Making It Rain
You will be able to get a lot of money during the ‘Making it Rain‘ event in Borderlands 3. Starting September 3 at 9 AM PT, till September 10, 8:59 AM PT, enemies will drop more in-game cash all week long. This is a great event to stock up on cash for upcoming purchases down the line.
Why do you need money?
You want to save up a bunch of money because with the upcoming DLC, Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic FusterCluck, as you are going to need it. While Gearbox Software didn’t directly tell you why, they did show gameplay footage of the 4th story campaign add-on. In the video, you can see that the player has more ammo than currently possible. This tells us that there will be new storage deck upgrades. While I don’t know how tough the new DLC is going to be, a lot of fellow Vault Hunters are running out of ammo during the Guardian Takedown. While there are clever tricks to restock your ammo by using a cutpurse launchpad artifact, it is nice that you don’t have to rely on these tricks to make it possible to complete the takedown.
How to get more money?
For this event, you want to run through areas with a lot of enemies. The Slaughter Domes or Proving Grounds are great for that. If you want more money, you can equip a grenade that squeezes additional money out of your opponents. I recommend a ‘Money Madding Tracker’ or something similar. You want a homing grenade with the money, bounce, and something that increases the number of frags. On every impact, you will get additional money drops. But if you want a fast boss run that provides a lot of money, I recommend farming Handsome Jackbot in DLC1. While he does have a few immunity phases, there will be additional enemies spawning in. After defeating the final boss of Moxxi’s Heist on the Handsome Jackpot, you will be able to enter a vault that is loaded with money. So that are some ways you can farm cash money after the event has ended.
