How to quickly get high-level gear?
If you are just starting out you need to level up your character fast. Here is a guide on how to get XP fast. Once you reach the maximum level cap you want to increase your chances to earn badass loot. You can play the game on higher difficulty tiers to increase the loot drops, however, there are a few different tricks you can do to increase the loot or even by-pass farming.
1. Farm Dedicated Loot Sources
The best way to get legendary weapons in Borderlands 3 is by farming their dedicated drop sources. Check out the legendary weapon list and find the item you want. On the page of each item, you can find a guide where you can farm that specific weapon. That way you can efficiently get the gear you need to be the most badass Vault Hunter out there.
2. Play on True Vault Hunter Mode
After you complete the main story campaign of Borderlands 3, you can activate True Vault Hunter Mode (TVHM). This is Borderlands’ NEW GAME+. In this second playthrough, you increase the difficulty of the game, however, you also increase the loot drops. In TVHM you have a way better chance of getting anointed gear.
3. Activate Mayhem Mode
If you don’t want to replay the story campaign, you can also activate Mayhem Mode. That way you are not just increasing the game’s difficulty but you are also increasing the loot drops.
4. Increase your Luck
Badass loot has a chance of dropping. This is all based on your amount of luck. Luckily you can influence this number and stack the odds in your favor. You can equip the legendary Loaded Dice or the Moxxi’s Endowment to boost your luck.
However, if you really want to boost your loot drops you need to equip the Shlooter. This artifact come from Vault Card 2 – Welcome to Pandora
You can also grind a lot of XP and spend tokens into the Hunter tree of your Guardian Rank. Here you can increase your luck but you can also earn the “Treasure Hunter” reward. For 75 Guardian Tokens, you get the perk that increases Luck for 10 seconds after each kill.
5. Drink Milk
There is a Borderlands Science machine in Tannis’ lab. If you score enough points in this mini-game, you can purchase yourself some Butt Stallion Milk. This temporarily increases your loot luck.
6. Use Golden Keys
You can open up a golden chest on Sanctuary III. This will give you badass loot that is on par with your character level. In order to open up this chest, you are going to need Golden Keys. You can get those by following the Borderlands social channels or you can find them here up on my site.
7. Red Chest Farming
There are red chests hidden throughout the game. These chests have a higher chance of providing you with Badass loot. You can use this guide to find all hidden Red Chest in Borderlands 3.
8. Echocast Twitch Extension
On Twitch you can watch how a lot of streamers play Borderlands 3. When they have the EchoCast Twitch extension enabled, you have a chance to win the loot they find in the Red Chests. The cool thing is that these items will be sent to your through the in-game mail system. These items will then made available on your character’s level. Because these items will stay in your mailbox for 356 days, you can stash them for a while. For example, when a new level cap increase is on the horizon. When Gearbox Software enables events like the Rare Chest Riches, that will really crank up the quality of the loot.
