Immortals of Aveum Announced at The Game Awards

Immortals of Aveum got announced at The Game Awards. In this teaser trailer, we get a glimpse of the upcoming magic shooter by Ascendant Studios. They aim to deliver a groundbreaking single-player FPS with a visceral, cinematic campaign experience.

Ascendant Studios is an independent development studio led by industry veteran Bret Robbins. The team contains developers that worked on Dead Space, Call of Duty, Halo, Bioshock, and more.

The beginning of the trailer is a rendered cinematic of the inside of the Sigil that is used to cast magic spells. It looks very cool but is not representative of the gameplay, however, you hear voices in the distance that are suggesting that there is more going on in the world of Aveum.

Halfway through this trailer, we do get footage that represents gameplay although this area might not make it into the game in this exact setup. That said, it looks very cool and I’m intrigued by the colossal giants in the background that seem to have fallen during the battle. This scene showcases that there is a lot going on and I’m looking forward to exploring that.

Immortals of Aveum will launch worldwide on August 22nd, 2023. The game is being developed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on EA App, Steam, and Epic Game Store. You can find more detail in the FAQ section.
