Hey and welcome to another Channel Update. In these blogs, I want to give you an update on what has been going on in my life and on the website as I strive to create a kickass resource for you.
PERSONAL
JULY, BIRTHDAY MONTH !!! I celebrated my birthday the other weekend. My lovely wife stood up early to decorate the room with birthday flags and stuff. This got my youngest son (4) really excited which is always a joy to see. He even made me something at school. My oldest son (12) went out and bought a birthday gift by himself which was really sweet because in previous years my wife would buy all the gifts that the kids would give.
I received a lot of gift cards on my birthday and one of them had a code for additional Mario Kart tracks. So that’s something I have been playing with the kids.
I finally manage to enable online crossplay between my PC and my Xbox. Apparently, there was some hidden family safety setting on my oldest son’s account that prevented me to hop into his game. Now we can play games together without split-screen.
I’m currently watching “Secret Invasion” on Disney+.
Website
- Updated the site’s CMS and its plugins to the latest releases to ensure security.
- One plugin update broke pagination (again) but fixed it. Thanks, Stephen for bringing this to my attention.
- Created a few new thumbnails to better reflect the pages they were presenting.
Borderlands 3
I was talking to a friend and he was overwhelmed by the amount of Borderlands content there is. After doing some research I noticed more folks wonder where to start, therefore, I wrote a guide in what order you should play the Borderlands games and why.
The Borderlands 3 Max Level article received an update to answer related questions to new players.
The Hunt
Ki11erSix is organizing The Hunt again. As always I’ll do my best to cover the Borderlands community scavenger hunt.
PilotPlaysGames has already made awesome merch but apparently, there are some requests if I’ll be adding some merch designs, so I’ll have to look into that if I can come up with something cool that’s on theme.
Borderlands 3 DLC Crew Challenges
Borderlands 3 released a lot of content during its first year and I wasn’t able to create guides for everything. As time had gone by, I had forgotten about these crew challenges. Now I have corrected that and added guides to all the crew challenges I didn’t have before.
- [DLC1] Pieces of Resistance

- [DLC1] Torgue’s Marketing Mistake
- [DLC2] Mancubus’ Eldritch Statues

Borderlands 2
I wasn’t making guides when Borderlands 2 was initially released. Back in those days, I was creating cool Borderlands 2 Wallpapers. As there is no new Borderlands or even Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands content, I thought I’ll go back in time and start adding Borderlands 2 guides to the site.
Borderlands 2 Weapon Guides
Borderlands is all about the loot and you want to know what the best items are in the game. Therefore, I made guides for every weapon type.
- Weapon Tier List
- Best Epic Weapons
- Best Grenades
- Best Pistols
- Best Launchers
- Best Snipers
- Best SMGs
- Best Shotguns
- Best Assault Rifles
- Best Shields
Borderlands 2 Guides
Beyond the best loot in the game, what are some of the other topics you want to know about when playing Borderlands 2?
- What happens when you tip Moxxi?
- Who is Michael Mamaril and where do I find him?
- In which order should I play the BL2 DLCs?
- Best Eridium Farm Locations in Borderlands 2
- Everything you need to know about Shields in Borderlands 2
Borderlands 2 Easter Eggs
There are a bunch of really cool easter eggs in Borderlands 2 that go beyond the simple text reference. I wanted to showcase these and therefore created dedicated guides on them. Because if you are a Borderlands 2 player, you should know about these hidden secrets.
- Dark Souls
- Minecraft
- Tannis on a Fish
- Giant Teddy Bear
- Double Rainbow (Soon)
- Lord of the Rings (Soon)
Borderlands Movie
The Borderlands Movie had multiple spicy info drops this month that got the internet rallied up.
- Writer denies involement
- Borderlands’ most hated character gets cast
- Jamie Lee Curtis drops the release window for the movie
Immortals of Aveum
While I’m adding a ton of Borderlands content to the site, I’m also invested in the upcoming game, Immortals of Aveum. There hasn’t been a lot of new content this last month but I heard they are dropping new deep dive videos each week. They are already dropping bitesize content on their New Immortals of Aveum Discord every day. I expect more info as we get closer to release.
The Developer AMA was fun and they actually answered multiple questions that came from me. The Community Content Manager even reached out to me with a DM thanking me for the great and thoughtful questions as the devs really appreciated them.
There was a 3 part documentary about the General Kirkan Cosplay by Alicia Marie. When I was watching the 3rd episode I forgot I had Borderlands 2 running in the background. So as Alicia says in a personal story about getting here hearing back; “When you hear anything let us know” and at that exact moment Claptraps says “I gotta pee” 🤣. You can always count on Claptrap ruining a moment.
The New Immortals Unpacked Trailer showcased a few new things as well as a social media post about the Forge. I have been documenting some gear but I need more data before I can make create a quality breakdown.
Redfall
It has been quiet around Redfall, a lot of radio silence from the studio which has players wondering “Is Redfall Abandoned?”. Occasionally, a patch or hotfix dropped out of the blue but I haven’t seen a clear roadmap.
I was looking at the game and was wondering what guides I could make about this game. Therefore, I made the Stake Guide as that’s a nice collectible thing you can do. But if there are any other things you would like to see, let me know.
