Mercenary Day 2015 is here and it’s dropping some badass SHIFT Codes for some swag. So get your holiday heads & skins for Borderlands the Pre-Sequel. Also, you get the Ol’ Painful a Vladof Assault Rifle.

If you desire a challenge during  Mercenary Day, well Odjurymir has been spotted in Serenity’s Waste. Last year the legendary Avalanche was assigned to his loot pool.  The Avalanche is a Maliwan shield with Raid +Nova capabilities.

Last year’s event Mercenary Day is coming back to Elpis. The Borderlands social media channel responded to a fan question if this event would make its return. Recently Gearbox also did a thanksgiving event in Borderlands the Pre-Sequel so asking for a Xmas event isn’t that far off. The Borderlands Social Media channel responded with the info that Marcus has sent a shipment towards Elpis.

Details on what content we will be getting are still unknown.  Last year the hidden boss, Iwajira, was changed for a more powerful version called, Odjurymir. He was able to drop a new unique and legendary weapon. Also, some festival decoration was visible in some areas. Stay tuned for more info soon as I will be updating this post when new details are announced.

Mercenary Day is a thing right about… NOW!
Gearbox Software has just started Mercenary Day on Elpis and will celebrate it all the way till the 5th of January. The locals on Eplis have decorated the place, so keep your eye out for hidden presents. Over at the R & D Facility and Pity’s Fall, the enemies are looking their “merry” best, with new heads & skins. And watch out there is a new  Kraggon in town named Odjurymir with new loot. Want to know where to find Odjurymir?

Well, he or she is over at Serenity’s Waste have a look at Iwajira’s place. Its loot drop is the Ol’Painful, a Vladof Assault Rifle that shoots lasers (fire element) A good thing that during this free in-game event all ammo is 25% off, so bury your enemies in an avalanche of lead.

And talking about avalanches, Odjurymir also drops a Legendary shield. While Iwajira drops ‘the Thingy’, a corrosive Rocket Launcher. Odjurymir drops the ‘Avalanche’ a Maliwan shield with Raid +Nova abilities. When your shield is depleted it will release a nova blast and you will deal extra Melee damage.

Btw. look like Gearbox fixed the loot spread on this one.

2K Games teased with a tweet that Mercenary Day is making it’s return. The Christmas event from the Borderlands 2, Mercenary Day, is coming to the Pre-Sequel. No it won’t be a downloadable campaign add-on like we had with Borderlands 2. It’s going to be a SHIFT event like the one during Halloween. Back then we got to hunt Undeadlift for a pumpkin launching shotgun. As 2K or Gearbox haven’t released any further details what this event will contain there are some things that come to mind.

Pre Launch Speculation

As there are currently no details what this SHIFT Event will contain i might think that the snowman heads will make their return. As we have seen from the halloween event, Scav’s would get pumpkin heads so a snowman head wouldn’t be a far fetch. I don’t have any boss in mind that we would battle this time around. But for a event reward i might think a Dahl assault rifle, maybe the grenadier that shoots snowballs and of course with a cryo element attached.
