Beyond DLC4
Randy Pitchford, President of Gearbox Software announced that additional content, beyond the Season Pass, is coming to Borderlands 3. He mentioned the unannounced DLC during Ki11erSix’s live stream on July 23, 2020. Randy also mentioned that they (Gearbox Software and 2K Games) are almost ready to talk about it. This is great news for the future of Borderlands 3.

Playing the Long Game
Gearbox Software was also able to continue making DLC for Borderlands 2 beyond the initial season pass content. That game and its DLC peformed great and the community was hungry for more Borderlands, it was silly not to do. If you have been following the patch updates for Borderlands 3, you can see that Gearbox Software is really trying to get the game in the best shape it can be. Reworking the end game, adjusting the loot, aiming to create more build diversity, and much more. While Borderlands 3 isn’t set up as an always-online “Games as Service” they are constantly improving the game.
New DLC
Before the launch of Borderlands 3, there was a game plan. I heard that due to the success of BL3, GBX could push the support the game even further than that they initially planned. While those plans are already set in stone. We now learned that Gearbox and 2K have reevaluated the situation and made new plans beyond the 4 story campaign add-ons and the free (seasonal) events and Takedowns. This means they have had a lot of time to listen to community feedback. While Raid Bosses were not part of the initial plan, this might be something that’s on the table now as there has been a lot of feedback about that. Headhunter Packs are also something that the community really wants. I have seen comments that folks wanted to pay for the Revenge of the Cartels event, just to have it always available. The quality of that event is superb. I would love to see more of that.
