Hey and welcome to another Channel Update. In these blogs, I want to give you an update on what has been going on in my life and on the website as I strive to create a kickass resource for you.
Personal
- On Nov 11 we have a local tradition called “Saint Maarten” where kids build their own lanterns and then sing songs at the neighboring houses for candy/cookies/fruit. My youngest son had fun and wasn’t shy this year, so I’m proud of him doing this as it can be scary. There is an age limit on this event so my oldest son didn’t participate.
- I went to an airplane museum with the family. My youngest son was amazed (also by the space section) and my oldest son was making his friends on Discord jealous because he got to see some of those planes they have been using in War Thunder in real life.
- Saint Nicholas has arrived in Holland and will celebrate his birthday on Dec 5. This is kinda the Dutch Santa. His arrival by steamboat is broadcast live on national television and plays into a daily television show. St Nick’s helpers always run into some trouble and there is this whole adventure to save St Nick’s birthday and successfully deliver the kid’s presents.
Website
- Updated software backend of the current website and the new site.
- Implementing a new Ads system as the provider is rolling out a new platform.
- I haven’t done much development on MentalMars V4 as the Google algorithms updates are hitting sites hard so I directed my attention to keeping this site in shape.
Borderlands 4
Borderlands 4 news is still slow despite GBX mentioning on stage that more info will drop in the coming weeks/months. There was some news about other Borderlands projects, like the book and the escape room but maybe they will show a Borderlands 4 Trailer during the Game Awards.
- Updated the Borderlands 4 Release Date as the Take-Two Interactive fiscal report revealed a few details.
- I created and added a few Borderlands 4 Wallpaper to the site.
Borderlands 3
I did a ton of work on the Borderlands 3 HUB as over a dozen pages were enhanced by adding details but also changing up lists into tables for a better user experience.
I have been looking at my old content and decided to rework it because the articles had a “bloggy” vibe. The old style made sense when we were still exploring the game and as we were on this journey of discovery together.
I rewrote and restructured the following articles to provide a better user experience. Now they are clear, providing an introduction for new players, a direct answers for experienced Vault Hunters, and articles were enhanced with new screenshots/infographics.

I also updated all the Best [INSERT WEAPON TYPE] Guides. Applied the new structure and clearer messaging. I had to fix a few drop sources because GBX had moved a few items around, while I did the weapon pages back in the day, these guides were overlooked. Vault Card items now also appear in these guides.

- Enhanced Vault Hunter Skill Trees with some details, fixed a few errors, and added skill recommendations.
I want to write new guides that focus on clever game mechanics that help players. The first guide I wrote is also there for me because I forgot this trick. It has been a while since I fought Hemovorous and when I recently did this Raid boss with my son, I ran out of ammo but because I had the Cutpurse and Knifedrain artifacts mixed up I had no clue to restoring my ammo.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands
- I updated the Chaos Chamber Featured Run Guide again after a break. Gonna keep track of these and see if there is a pattern to unlock. These updates won’t be live when the weekly rotation changes as I’m doing the other weekly rotation stuff first. I’m aiming for Fridays as the weekly rotation is on Thursday evenings here in Holland.
- Added an overview for the Chaos Chamber Mini-Bosses because they have their own loot pool and this wasn’t directly mentioned on the site yet.
- Keeping up with SHiFT Codes and Loot Room updates.
- Some findings from the Weekly Rotation/Featured Run end up on Social Media
Others HUBs
- Battleborn:
- No New Updates.
- Reborn is still in development.
- I wasn’t expecting 2K to do anything with PvP games and therefore nothing with Battleborn but they did introduce a new PvP game. So a bit more hopeful for Battleborn 2 if that other project works for 2K Games.
- Borderlands 1, 2, TPS:
- No updates; but I would love to create more guides for these classic games as they are still being played, however, the focus is currently on the new games.
- Keeping up with SHiFT Codes.
- Immortals of Aveum:
- No Updates.
- No new developments from the studio.
