Telltale Games is shutting down

Telltale Games, the studio that developed games like the Walking Dead, Wolf’s Among Us, and Tales from the Borderlands series is shutting down. The studio has had a rough time and can no longer continue their efforts. Currently, there is a skeleton crew of 25 people finalizing the last obligations, everyone else has been laid off. It’s sad to see that another game studio has to close its doors. However, it is sweet to see that other game studios are reaching out to those talented people so they start a new endeavor. Tales From The Borderlands

Telltale Games was also responsibleĀ for the Tales from the Borderlands series. Personally, I really enjoyed this story-driven game that is set in the Borderlands universe. While the ending of the game set itself up for aĀ second season, however, that sadly never happenedĀ and with the departure of Telltale Games we might never see a follow-up. Fans like you and I are speculating if Rhys & Fiona will make an appearance in the next Borderlands game.

@GroovitronGuild on Twitter did ask Randy Pitchford, President of Gearbox Software, if they (GBX) have the rights to Tales from the Borderlands to which Randy responded, Yes.

It could be possible that Gearbox & 2K Games hire another studio to make a sequel or that they develop one themselves. Currently, this is wishful thinking as it has been quiet around this series for a while.

  1. I’m sorry to hear that. I hope they land on a company that’s going to strive and succeed.
