Trailer Breakdown

I have gone over the new Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands trailer frame-by-frame multiple times. If you want more info about the Characters or the different Classes, I got that info up on the site. But in this article, I’m gonna show you what other creators aren’t telling you.

Nr.1 – Floating eyeball

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Screencapture 34 edit

During the segment that they showed off the Stabbomancer in action with its ‘From the Shadows’ skill, you can actually see a new enemy type in the background. It looks like a floating eyeball with something hanging underneath it. It looks like boned but it could also just be the muscle that’s behind your eye.

Another thing that you can see in the image above is a barrel with a sword icon above it. The icon itself suggests to me that you have to smash it with your melee weapon. However, I have no idea what it would trigger. Other Barrels, like the fire or shock barrels, that we have seen throughout the trailers don’t have this icon above them. So I’m curious to see what this is for.

Nr.2 – Magic Missle

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Screencapture 35 Edit

During the opening shot of the trailer you get a glimpse of this beanstalk, which reminded me of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’. Very fitting for Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. But if you look closely at the beanstalk, you get a cool D&D reference. There is a rocket trapped in one of the vines and it has the text “MAGIC MISSLE” written on it. High Five Dev Team!

Later on in the trailer you see a chubby animal fall through a portal into another one. My brain instantly goes that it will be stuck there in an infinite loop. But if you look at the image above, you can actually see another portal to the left side of the beanstalk.

Nr.3 – Hidden Lucky Dice

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Screencapture 33 - Edit

While they showed the Stabbomancer’s Ghost Blade skill, you can actually see a hidden lucky dice in the background. Make sure to collect these as they provide loot and increase your luck.

Another thing is that the Ghost Blade is spinning clockwise in the image above. Meaning it will stab the enemies with the backside of the blade instead of cutting them with the front side. A blunt knife actually does more damage to a person than a sharp knife. It won’t slice as easily as a sharp knife but inflict more damage.

Nr.4 – Queen of Hearts

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Screencapture 36

Butt Stallion’s Castle is known as “Castle Sparklewithers”. On the gate there are the letter BS, which stands for Butt Stallion or B*ll Sh*t, you choose.

The hearts in this castle setting reminded me of the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderlands. As this looks to be our main hub town, I don’t think Butt Stallion will go evil on us… PLOTTWIST?

Nr.5 – Lucky Dice Rarity Tier?

In the trailer, we come up to this point with this giant die. It gets smashed with a melee strike and all this wonderful loot comes popping out. There is even springs a legendary item from it. Yes, you probably know that there are lucky dice in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. However, when I see this one it doesn’t look like the ones we spotted from a distance. The previous ones look yellow and are solid. This one is more like a cage or contraption in the shape of a die and has a glowing orb inside of it. Does this mean there are different rarity tiers of these lucky dice just like loot chests come in different rarity tiers?

Another thing you can see in the trailer is that once that lucy dice gets smashed a portal opens up on the left side of the screen. While the camera tries to focus on the loot it kinda moves off-screen. I wonder if this is a lucky dice that has a risk/reward mechanic to it. Yes, you have a chance to get badass loot but portals will show up and enemies will come through them.

Nr.6 – New-U Station?

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Screencapture 40 New-U station

During the segment where you get to smash things as the Brr-Zerker you get to this moment that the skeletons look weird at you. But if you look in the back you see this odd-looking thing in the background. It looks high-tech and it reminded me of a fast travel or new-u station from Borderlands. It seems to have a computer screen in the middle, solar panels on the sides, and a skull above it all.

Nr.7 – Portals + Booty

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Screencapture 37 shroombooty

Shroom Booties are trending these days but if you look to the left you see 2 portals. I wonder if you need to jump off the cliff into the lower portal and then get dropped out of the upper portal into the town area.

Nr.7 – Spell +Dice

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Screencapture 39 Spell

During this moment in the trailer, we get a demonstration of a hydra magic spell. We also see the damage numbers pop up. But if you look in the background there is actually a hidden lucky dice.

Nr.8 – Backpack

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Screencapture 41 Backpack

As there is more smashing going around, there is this brief moment one of the shroompy folks gets smashed. But if you freeze-frame at that exact moment, you can spot a backpack next to it. Because of the white beam that’s shining from it. This indicated that you can pick it up. Is it a loot item or will more stuff pop out of it when you open it up like the backpack of a Loot Tink from Borderlands 3?

Nr.8 – Barrels and Portal

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Screencapture 42 Portal

In this screen capture, we see the Brr-Zerker holding a weapon that has a magic barrel and the Stabbomancer has a crossbow.

If you look in the background, you see an arch with a portal inside of it. Portals seem to play a big role in this map.

Nr.9 – Explosive flowers

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Screencapture 43

You could already see this in the previous trailer but I still wanted to point this out. The flowers can explode if you damage them. This gameplay mechanic was also featured in Bounty of Blood, a Borderlands 3 DLC that was also produced with Matt Cox as Creative Director.

If you look at the splash damage that the Brr-Zerker’s Feral Surge has. It has a significant range as it’s able to trigger the explosive flower.
