IGN is doing their Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands exclusives month and posted a new article about the game’s central hub.
Izzy’s Fizzies
Izzy is a new NPC in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands (see featured image above). She is the owner and tavern keeper of Izzy’s Fizzies, the “strictly non-alcoholic” soda bar. Izzy has a warm and inviting personality, punctuated by her soft quasi-Minnesotan accent. It’s meant to evoke friendliness but also serves as an in-game gag as Tina ran out of accents for all her NPCs.
Izzy’s Fizzies will basically act like Sanctuary from the Borderlands series a central HUB where you come back to. You will receive quests here. There 3 types of quests:
- Plot Quests: these advance the plot.
- Major Quests: these are substantial but exist outside the plotline.
- Sidequests: are sidequests they are triggered when you find wanted posters
The tavern will change as you progress the game. For example; You can find the head of a slain monster mounted on the wall. Gearbox mentions that the tavern will look completely different at the end of the game.
There will be a poet in Izzy’s Fizzies who will recite the hidden poems that you find within the campaign.
You can find a Quick Change Station in the tavern where you can customize your character.
Then there is an “ancient obelisk” within the tavern that unlocks challenges for you to undertake that strictly take place outside the quest structure.
