Gearbox Entertainment teamed up with Dark Horse Comics to create a series of graphic novels called Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands: Land of the Giants. This comic book tie-in to the Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands franchise is scheduled to hit the store shelves this summer.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands: Land of the Giants is written by Paul Tobin (Marvel Comics veteran), illustrated by Luisa Russo (Italian artist and long-time Dark Horse Comics collaborator), coloring is done by Heather Breckel (Marvel & Dark Horse Comics), and the lettering will be handled by Deron Bennett who is known for his work on Masters of the Universe: Revelation and the Overwatch: New Blood comics.

Tiny Tina and multiple other established characters from the game will make an appearance in the comic book series. Paul Tobin will also introduce several new characters who are on their quest to chase down a bounty on a giant called Hilly the Kid.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands: Land of the Giants costs $3.99. This is a Full-Color graphic Novel containing 32 pages. Volume 1 is scheduled to be released on August 14, 2024. You can pre-order it now at your local comic book store. There are 2 more volumes planned but those haven’t received a release date just yet.

Synopsis

Tiny Tina is running a new game of “Bunkers & Badasses” with explorers Frette, Valentine, and Hammerlock playing as Skrrmish the Bogbarian, Crasher the Stabbomancer, and Blasteen the Deadshot! Playing in a world from the colorful mind of Tiny Tina, the three heroes set off to hunt a bounty on the giant Hilly the Kid!

My Perspective

I wasn’t expecting this but it is a pleasant surprise. I’m glad they went with the graphic novel approach. I recently did a poll and Borderlands comics was high on the list of demands so seeing GBX do something like that for one of their other franchises is a win.

The cover looks good. The illustrator does have a different drawing style than what we usually see with Gearbox’s artwork. The Gearbox artists have a unique way on how they do their line work and while this looks different it isn’t bad (They probably have a different target audience than the 40+ male content creator).

Tiny Tina looks great, there are a lot of details but definitely going for the cuteness factor.

Valentine looks a bit too handsome, as someone who has its act together but Valentine in TTWL definitely has shortcomings.
