The Pitchfork is a Legendary Weapon in Borderlands 2 and Borderlands the Pre-Sequel. This Dahl Sniper has a tight 5 projectile spread and also burst fires when zoomed. The spread of the Pitchfork makes it easier to land a headshot on moving enemies. You can also utilize the burst by waving the gun down or up quickly during the burst. This can be beneficial as bandits sometimes sudden duck or roll to avoid your shots.
Elements:
Shock, Incendiary, Corrosive, Cryo/Slag, or None
Special Weapon Effects:
“Mainstream’d!”
Fires 5 horizontal shots in a line, shaped in a “V” pattern. Consumes 2 ammo per shot.
How to get the Pitchfork ?:
- Borderlands 2
- You can get the Pitchfork randomly from any suitable loot source but has an increased chance to drop from Terramorphous the Invincible.
- To enter Terramorphous Peak, first, enter Slab Town in Thousand Cuts. Then go down a small walkway alongside the cliff side. Here you will find a cave with a mysterious stone barrier and an altar that requires eight Eridium to proceed. Once you placed the Eridium on the altar, the stone barriers will part and Terramorphous Peak can be accessed. However, you can only access this area once you have accepted the ‘You. Will. Die. (Seriously.)‘ mission. You will receive this mission from Patricia Tannis in Sanctuary after you completed the main story campaign.ProTip: If you want to farm Terramorphous multiple times don’t leave the area, rather ‘save&quit’ the game. When loading up your game you will spawn at Terramorphous Peak and skip the initial Eridium payment to gain access.
- You can get the Pitchfork randomly from any suitable loot source but has an increased chance to drop from Terramorphous the Invincible.
- Borderlands The Pre-Sequel
- You can get the Pitchfork randomly from any suitable loot source or the Grinder.
How to Grind the Pitchfork ?:
You can use the Grinder to create the Pitchfork in Borderlands the Pre-Sequel. While there is no guaranteed recipe, you can combine 2 Legendary weapons and 1 Purple Sniper to obtain a random legendary Sniper. Be sure to make it a Luneshine grind for a “guaranteed” legendary and also get a chance of getting a Luneshine buff.
Notes:
- The extra 4 projectiles are not listed on the Pitchfork’s item card, meaning every projectile receives full amp damage.
- The Pitchfork is very good against large bosses as it is much easier to land all of the projectiles.
Trivia:
- The rifle’s name and flavor text is a reference to the ‘Borderlands is for Real Gamers’ video, starring a fictionalized version of Gearbox president Randy Pitchford. The flavor text is a direct quote from the video.
- This weapon was first shown in IGN’s ‘Gunzerker Class Preview’ and was the earliest leaked weapon, through the video.
- Because of the combination of the unique spread and the damage from a sniper rifle, this gun is a great weapon choice for getting the “No Scope, No Problem” and “Leaf on the Second Wind” sniper rifle challenge.
