Skullmasher - Borderlands Legendary Sniper
Skullmasher - Borderlands Legendary Sniper

The Skullmasher is a Legendary Weapon in Borderlands 2 and Borderlands the Pre-Sequel. This Jacobs Sniper fires a cluster of six bullets but each shot will only costs one round of ammunition. If all six projectiles connect the Skullmasher is capable of much higher raw damage output than most of its peers. This weapon tends to have very low accuracy for a sniper rifle, therefore  it’s best used at mid-range or against very large enemies.

Element:

None

Special Weapon Effects:

“A real head turner…turned to mush…ahahaha!”
Shoots a group of six projectiles with decreased damage at the cost of one ammo. Decreased gun accuracy.

How to get the Skullmasher ?:

  • Borderlands 2
    • You can get the Skullmasher randomly from any suitable loot source but has an increased chance to drop from Son of Mothrakk located in Wildlife Exploitation Preserve.
      • The Son of Mothrakk serves as a farmable stand-in for Bloodwing after Bloodwing’s defeat.
    • In the Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt DLC, it also has an increased chance to drop from Rakkanoth located in Scylla’s Grove
  • Borderlands the Pre-Sequel
    • The Skullmasher can be obtained randomly from any suitable loot source but has an increased chance to drop from Nel located in Regolith Range.  Nel will only fight you once you have completed the side mission “Last Requests”.  In order to trigger the fight with Nel, you must trigger Nel. You need to retrieve two large signs with the letters “D” and “K” from the tops of two buildings. They then need to be placed on the IC 57 wall to spell the word “DICK”.  After you placed the letters Nel will let you know he is unhappy about being insulted again. At this point the fight will be triggered you should follow his lead.
      • Tip:  Nel is resistant to incendiary attacks.

How to Grind the Skullmasher ?:

You can use the Grinder to create the Skullmasher in Borderlands the Pre-Sequel. While there is no guaranteed recipe, you can combine 2 Legendary weapons and 1 Purple Sniper to obtain a random legendary Sniper. Be sure to make it a Luneshine grind for a “guaranteed” legendary and also get a chance of getting a Luneshine buff.

Notes:

  • Since this fires six pellets instead of one bullet, it can achieve multiple critical hits in one shot. This is useful for obtaining the Melon Splitter challenge faster.
