About the Smog:
The Smog is a Legendary Weapon in Borderlands 3. This Hyperion SMG gives your projectiles an AMP damage increase while you are aiming down sight and your weapon shield is at max capacity. This basically doubles your damage output as long as your shield remains undamaged.
FL4K and Zane can easily utilize this weapon with their action skills. FL4K’s can use it when in Fade Away or when their pet is taunting (Red Fang). Zane can hide behind his own barrier shield to protect this weapon shield from taking any damage at all.
Elements:
Physical Damage is useful against everything. It has no special properties but also does not suffer weaknesses.
Fire damage is strong against Flesh and can cause targets to burn. Burning deals high damage over a 5-second duration.
Corrosive damage is strong against Armor and causes targets to melt. Melting deals high damage over a 7-second duration.
Shock damage is strong against Shields and causes targets to be electrocuted. Electrocution deals very high damage over a 3-second duration.
Cryo damage slows enemies and eventually freezing them. Cryo efficiency is the percentage of damage dealt that is applied as Cryo, at 100% efficiency, enemies will freeze at 20% health. Frozen enemies are unable to move and take 3x Melee damage
Radiation damage can cause targets to become Irradiated. Irradiated enemies deal Aura Damage to nearby enemies for 8 seconds. If an Irradiated enemy dies, they explode, Irradiating any enemies damaged by the explosion.
Special Weapon Effect:
“Haze amaze”
- Damage is amplified (250% Gun Damage) while Weapon Shield is Active and at Max Capacity
- Weapon shield is instantly recharged to full capacity after killing an enemy.
Where to get the Smog?
The Smog has a 44% chance of dropping from Scourge the Invincible during the Guardian Takedown which is located on Minos Prime. The drop chance is slightly decreased to 39.1% when playing on Mayhem 6 or above .
Where can I find Scourge the Invincible?
Scourge the Invincible is the raid boss that you encounter during the Takedown on the Guardian Breach on Minos Prime. You can access the Guardian Takedown once you completed Borderlands 3’s main story campaign.
Is the Smog any good?
The Smog is definitely worth picking up especially for you Zane and FL4K players as you get more mileage out of the legendary effect.
