About the T.K’s Wave:

The T.K’s Wave is a Legendary Weapon in Borderlands 3. This Jakobs Shotgun is a classic weapon returning from Borderlands 2.   Just like previously, it shoots a horizontal row of 8 slow-moving balls that wiggle up and down like a wave pattern.  These projectiles do ricochet off surfaces and make for a funny display.

This weapon has the potential to be the highest-damaging Jakobs shotgun in the game – as it can have more raw damage than the Hellwalker– but you need to fire it at point blank to achieve it.

Special Weapon Effect:

“Ride the wave, dude!”

    • Fires a horizontal row of 8 slow-moving balls that travel in a wave pattern.
    • Projectiles ricochet off of surfaces.
    • The projectile’s lifespan is 5 seconds.

Elements:

Physical Damage is useful against everything. It has no special properties but also does not suffer weaknesses.
Fire damage is strong against Flesh and can cause targets to burn. Burning deals high damage over a 5-second duration.Shock damage is strong against Shields and causes targets to be electrocuted. Electrocution deals very high damage over a 3-second duration.

Elemental Damage Guide

How to get the T.K’s Wave?

The T.K’s Wave can randomly drop from any suitable loot but you have a 15% chance of getting it from The Holy Dumptruck. You can farm him at The Droughts on Pandora but before you can do that, you will need to have picked up or completed the side mission “Dump on Dumptruck”.  You can pick up the quest from a bounty poster outside of Ellie’s Catch-A-Ride garage. The Holy Dumptruck will be hiding at the top of the bandit outpost.

You can also get a none elemental version of this weapon but then it’s called the Tidal Wave.

Changelog:

  • Hotfix May 13, 2021
    • Increased projectile speed
    • Increased weapon damage by 233%

Notes:

  • The TK Wave occasionally appears in Maurice’s Black Market.
  • The elemental variant of the Tk’s Wave have slightly different names. As the Incendiary variants are named “T.K’s Heatwave” and the Shock variants are named “T.K’s Shockwave”.
  • The Tidal Wave is similar to the TK’s Wave, however, while its projectile count can be double compared to the TK’s wave, its damage is actually half of the TK’s Wave.
    • T.K’s Wave: 42,546 x 12 = 510,552
    • Tidal Wave: 11,062 x 25 = 276,550
  • The x10 TK’s Wave actually deals more damage than the x12
    • 51726 x 10 = 517,260
    • 42,546 x 12 = 510,552
  • The TK Wave is a returning weapon from the Borderlands (1), however, it’s a Jakobs weapon this time around instead of a Dahl weapon in the original Borderlands.
