These are your most powerful Assault Rifles in Borderlands 2.
5. Ogre
The Ogre is a legendary Assault Rifle that is manufactured by Torgue. This weapon has a 25% chance to fire twice and it occasionally buffs you with +50% Fire Rate and +100% Reload Speed. Projectiles will also be able to ricochet throughout the duration of this boost.
The Ogre has a large magazine size and is also a versatile weapon for any character, as each character has skills that can benefit and/or compensate for any of the weapon’s flaws.
You can get the Ogre from Warlord Slog in Murderlin’s Temple in the Assault on Dragon Keep DLC.
4. Kitten
The Kitten is a unique assault rifle that is manufactured by Vladof. The projectile pattern is in the shape of a smiley face. However, the spread can lose its accuracy at longer distances, therefore, it’s best to use this weapon at close range. That said, Gaige can get extra mileage out of the Kitten due to her “close enough” skill.
The Kitten is a Moxxi weapon and can therefore heal you by 4% of the weapon’s damage dealt.
You can get the Kitten by completing the Everybody Wants to be Wanted mission in the Campaign of Carnage DLC.
3. Peak Opener
The Peak Opener is an effervescent assault rifle that is manufactured by Torgue. This is basically an improved Legendary KerBlaster as it also fires rockets that drop 3 child grenades on impact.
This weapon offers exceptional damage by utilizing two elements that few enemies are resistant to, however, it will eat through your ammo.
If you equip the Peak Opener alongside the Easy Mode Shield on the Digistruct Peak, this Assault Rifle will gain a 100% damage increase.
You can get the Peak Opener in the loot chests that spawn after Haderax the Invincible is defeated in the Commander Lilith DLC.
2. Lead Storm
The Lead Storm is a seraph assault rifle that is manufactured by Vladof. It’s kinda a combination of the Legendary Shredifier and the Hail. It fires slow-arcing projectiles that split into three during their flight. You need to find the sweet spot to effectively use this Assault Rifle but then it can do good damage.
You can get the Lead Storm from Dexiduous, Voracidous, and Ohmnd-Omnd-Ohk in the Big Game Hunt DLC, however, it’s much easier to purchase one for 120 crystals from the Seraph Vendor in Hunter’s Grotto.
1. Bekah
The Bekah is a pearlescent assault rifle that is manufactured by Jakobs. This is the best Assault Rifle in Borderlands 2 as it outperforms all the other weapons in its class.
The projectile of the Bekah will split into 3 projectiles during its trajectory and have a unique +50% Crit Damage Bonus. So if you can find the sweet spot you can have all 3 projectiles impact the enemy’s crit spot and eliminate them with ease.
You can get the Bekah by farming Chubby enemies.

These assault rifles might fall short on the “most powerful” list, however, that doesn’t mean they aren’t useful.
Hail
The Hail is a unique assault rifle that is manufactured by Vladof. It launches its projectiles in an arching trajectory which will then split into 2 at a set distance.
You can let the Hail rain on your enemies but this is only really effective at large bosses. You want to look at the ground during regular combat in order to shoot directly at your opponents. This is not ideal on consoles when you have a limited field of view compared to PC players.
The Hail is a Moxxi weapon and can heal you for the amount of damage the weapon deals.
You can get the Hail by completing the mission; Bandit Slaughter: Round 5.
Toothpick
The Toothpick is an effervescent assault rifle that is manufactured by Dahl. It fires 2 rows of 5 projectiles that can deal great damage but the ammo consumption of 6 per shot will eat through your capacity.
You can get the Toothpick from the Sand Worms in The Burrows in the Commander Lilith DLC
