Borderlands 2 Best Pistols
These are your most powerful Pistols in Borderlands 2.
5. Maggie
The Maggie a legendary Jakobs pistol that shoots like a shotgun. While this masher deals good damage it falls off in UVHM because it is a non-elemental weapon and you really benefit from stacking elemental damage in the end end game.
You can get the Maggie as a random world drop from any suitable loot source but you can also farm Mick Zaford in The Dust.
4. Anarchist / Stinger
The Anarchist is a common Vladof repeater pistol that acts like SMG as they both have a high fire rate. You could also pick up the Seraph Stinger as it deals similar damage. But if you can, try and get the Garnet Anarchist as that is the highest damage-dealing version and will also outperform the Stinger.
You can get the Anarchist as a random world drop from any suitable source. The Stinger can be obtained by defeating the Ancient Dragons in the Dragon Keep DLC.
3. DVA Stalker
The Stalker is a Pearlescent Pistol that is manufactured by Vladof. This weapon has a higher DPS than the Garnet Anarchist but can be a bit harder to obtain as it is a rare from from Chubby Enemies in UVHM.
2. Lady Fist
The Lady Fist is a unique pistol that actually has the highest DPS in Borderlands 2, however, its damage only shines when you are able to score critical hits. The regular damage on the Lady Fist is pretty bad but it has a +800% critical hit bonus which will destroy enemies.
You can get the Lady Fist by completing the mission Uncle Teddy in the Arid Nexus Badlands.
1. Unkempt Harold
The Double Penetrating Unkempt Harold is a legendary Torgue pistol that shoots 14 micro-gyrojet missiles in a horizontal spread. This is an overall powerful pistol to use as it doesn’t requires you to score critical hits to do damage. Also, its unlisted projectiles make it a great fit to combine with the legendary Bee Shield as every projectile gets boosted by the AMP damage.
You can get the Unkempt Harold from Savage Lee in Three Horns – Divide or you can purchase one from a Torgue vending machine in the Campaign of Carnage DLC.
Honorable Mentions
These Pistols might fall short on the “most powerful” list, however, that doesn’t mean they aren’t useful.
Fibber
The Fibber is a TOP 5 pistol if you just measure it by its damage potential, however, you need to jump through some hoops if you actually want to deal that damage. The Fibber can come in 3 variations; a shotgun spread, a single projectile with an arc, and a 9 tails version. You want this last version as this is the strongest one, however, you will need to ricochet its projectiles and hit your target because its bullets ricochet and split into 9 on surface impact.
You can get the Fibber by completing the mission; “A Real Boy: Human” in Eridium Blight.
Grog Nozzle
The Grog Nozzle is a great utility weapon because you don’t really use this weapon to deal damage. You will be using this weapon to Slag enemies and heal yourself instead because elemental damages play a big part in Borderlands 2’s end game and you will need to heal yourself from time to time, and the Grog Nozzle is a Moxxi weapon with the highest healing percentage.
You can get the Grog Nozzle by NOT completing the mission; “The Beard Makes the Man” in the “Mines of Avarice” in the Dragon Keep DLC. The Grog Nozzle is actually a quest item that you will lose upon completing the mission. However, the Borderland community found it very useful and started utilizing it in their end-game builds.
Infinity
The Infinity is a Legendary Vladof pistol that deals decent damage but its true strength comes from its infinite ammo. Shooting with the Infinity will not consume any ammo and its tight firing pattern actually makes it a pretty good weapon to use.
You can get the Infinity from Doc Mercy in Three Horns – Valley.
Hornet / Hector’s Paradise
The Hornet is a Legendary Dahl pistol that always shoots a burst of corrosive projectiles. It is a good weapon towards the end of Borderlands 2’s main story as you will encounter a lot of armored enemies and the Hornet is pretty good at taking care of that.
You can get the Hornet from Knuckle Dragger in Windshear Waste. Which I find funny as it’s the first mini-boss in the story and you can really use the weapon towards the end of the story.
In case you want a Shock version of the Hornet then you should seek out the Hector’s Paradise from the Commander Lilith DLC. You get it by completing the mission; “Echoes of the Past” in “Mt. Scarab Research Center”.
Conclusion
These are the best Pistols in Borderlands 2, however, that doesn’t take away that you can have fun with other Pistols. If you think another Pistol should be on this list, then let me know in the comments.
