These are your most powerful Snipers in Borderlands 2.
5. Pitchfork
The Pitchfork is a legendary sniper rifle that is manufactured by Dahl. This weapon can have a really high DPS if you can manage to land all the 5 bullets it fires, however, because you are likely only going hit with a few on regular targets the DPS falls short.
You can get the Pitchfork from Terramorphous at Terramorphous Peak or Master Gee at Hyter’s Folly (Pirate DLC)
4. Droog
The Droog is a common group of Sniper Rifles that are manufactured by Vladof. While the damage of the Droog isn’t the highest, it is a fully automatic weapon with a large magazine size and a high fire rate and therefore has a good DPS.
You can get the Droog randomly from any suitable loot source.
3. Amigo Sincero
The Amigo Sincero is a legendary sniper rifle that is manufactured by Jakobs. This weapon has the ability to bypass Shields just like the Trespasser but has a much higher damage output. Amigo Sincero also has a very high rate of fire and therefore is able to melt enemies.
You can only get the Amigo Sincero by completing the quest “BFFFs” in the Fight For Sanctuary DLC.
2. Pimpernel
The Pimpernel is a unique Sniper Rifle that is manufactured by Maliwan. This weapon shoots a bullet that spawns additional projectiles that rises into the air and will form a star pattern. The 5 Bullets that form the star-shaped pattern can hit enemies twice, however, the second hit deals 50% less damage.
The Pimpernel has the highest single projectile damage.
You can get the Pimpernel by completing the mission “Don’t copy that floppy” in Washburne Refinery in the “Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty” DLC.
1. Lyuda
The Lyuda is a legendary sniper rifle that is manufactured by Vladof. This is basically the legendary variant of the Droog that’s mentioned above.
The Lyuda fires one projectile that splits into three projectiles. If you find the sweet spot you can land all 3 projectiles at your enemy’s crit spot and deal massive damage as the Lyuda has a unique critical hit bonus.
You can get the Lyuda from Gettle who is located in The Dust. You encounter them during and after the side quest “The Good, The Bad, and the Mordecai”.
Honorable Mentions
These Snipers might fall short on the “most powerful” list, however, that doesn’t mean they aren’t useful.
Invader
The Invader is a legendary sniper rifle that is manufactured by Hyperion. This weapon will shoot a 5-round burst and because it’s a Hyperion rifle it will become more accurate as you continue to fire.
You can get the Invader from Saturn in the Arid Nexus Badlands or the Digistruct Peak.
Longbow
The Longbow is a legendary sniper rifle that is manufactured by Hyperion. This weapon is noteworthy because it is a Minecraft Easter Egg and shoots Minecraft-styled arrows but it also deals good damage. The downside is that it doesn’t have a scope
You can get the Longbow from Badass Creepers in the Caustic Caverns.
Skullmasher
The Skullmasher is a legendary sniper that is manufactured by Jakobs. It shoots 5 projectiles with a narrow spread at the cost of 1 ammo per shot. If you manage to land all the projectiles you can put out some serious damage.
You can get the Skullmasher from Son of Mothrakk in the Wildlife Exploitation Preserve or from Rakkanoth in Scylla’s Grove in the Big Game Hunt DLC, however, they don’t respawn.
Hot Mama
The Hot Mama is an effervescent sniper rifle that is manufactured by Jakobs. This weapon will always come with a fire element and has a unique voice module.
The Hot Mama has an increased accuracy when aiming down sight. Scoring critical hits with this weapon will stack a +50% critical hit damage bonus (stack last for 12 seconds).
You can get the Hot Mama from Lt. Hoffman in the Mt. Scarab Research Center in the Commander Lilith DLC.
Volcano
The Volcano is a legendary sniper rifle that is manufactured by Maliwan. It is a good sniper rifle for taking on tightly packed groups of enemies. The Volcano will set your enemies on fire and its special effect will let the fire spread to other enemies that are in close proximity to your initial enemy. While I’m not a typical sniper player, I always enjoyed the Volcano.
You can get the Volcano randomly from any suitable loot source but has an increased chance to drop from The Warrior located in Vault of the Warrior. It also has an increased chance to drop from the Handsome Sorcerer located in Dragon Keep.
Conclusion
