There are a lot of legendary Rocket Launchers in Borderlands 3 but like any true Vault Hunter, you only want the best of the best. This weapons guide will tell you exactly which heavy weapon you should have equipped in your inventory. So get ready to farm these babies:

9. R.Y.N.A.H

Borderlands 3 Legendary Torgue Rocket Launcher - RYNAH - LVL65 — Borderlands 3 Legendary Torgue Rocket Launcher – RYNAH – LVL65

The R.Y.N.A.H is a Torgue Rocket Launcher that shoots 2 slow-moving orbs that will explode on impact, however, during their airtime, they will damage nearby enemies by connecting with them with an energy beam. When the orbs explode they will send out these missiles that will home in on enemies that were still connected with the orbs by the energy beam.

This heavy weapon is great for mobbing as you can shoot it over the combat field and see all the energy beams lash on nearby enemies.

The R.Y.N.A.H. has an 11% chance of dropping from loot enemies. So be on the lookout for Loot Tinks, Loot Psychos, Chubby Skags, Thieving Jabber, Shiny Grog, or Engorged (Bloated) Rakk.

8. Major Kong

The Major Kong is a COV Rocket Launcher that can deal an insane amount of damage, however, in order to fully utilize its power, you will need to charge up your shots which will take some time.

In addition to that, it will eat through your ammo. Yes, you can basically one-shot enemies and bosses with this weapon, however, the additional homing rocket sometimes has a hard time hitting your target. You can shoot the ground and the rocket will still spawn an extra projectile.

The Major Kong has an increased chance of dropping from Psychoreaver who is located at Vaulthalla in Krieg’s Mind.

The Globetrottr has an increased chance of dropping from Scourge the Invincible during the Guardian Takedown which is located on Minos Prime.

The Nukem is a Torgue Rocket Launcher that drops bombs that create a massive explosion. The damage is great and the radius is insane, however, the projectile does arc and drops off heavily. There are some really good builds that abuse the splash damage and overkill mechanics of the game.

The Nukem can be obtained in Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot, it has a high chance of dropping from the Loco Chantelle who is a target for the Crew Challange “Mayor’s Killer Look” he is located at the entrance of the VIP Tower.

5. ION Cannon

The ION Cannon is a Vladof Rocket Launcher that erases everything you shoot at. After a short charge-up, you can fire fast-traveling projectiles. If you are familiar with the Spartan Laser from the Halo franchise you know what a blast this weapon can be.

The ION CANNON can be obtained in Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot, it has a high chance of dropping from the Fabricator MK II which is located at Jack’s Secret.

4. Plaguebearer

The Plaguebearer is a Torgue Launcher that shoots a large slow-moving orb that will spawn additional orbs that home into enemies. Therefore, you want the main projectile to travel a long distance before it impacts.

Some folks prefer this heavy weapon above the Backburner which is further down this list. The Plaguebearer is probably better suited for mobbing and the Backburner for bossing.

The main projectile creates a singularity effect on impact. You can get the Plaguebearer from Warden who is located in The Anvil on Eden-6, however, it’s a Mayhem Mode 6+ Legendary so if that’s out of your league but still want a launcher with a similar effect, try the Scourge.

3. Kickcharger

The Kickcharger is a Vladof Rocket Launcher that has the same model as the Backburner but shoots a focused laser beam like the ION Cannon.

While the Kickcharger can shoot through multiple enemies, you do need to charge it up before you can fire. However, at the cost of 1 ammo per shot, you are getting top-tier damage because if you charge it up for 4 seconds you deal 4x the damage. You can also perform a slide to fully charge the Kickcharger to maximum capacity.

The Kickcharger is an Arms Race exclusive Legendary in The Designer’s Cut. It can randomly drop from any suitable loot source within the Stormblind Complex located on Pandora. However, you have a high chance of getting the Kickcharger from a Red Chest.

Getting any Arms Race Legendary Item can be a challenge, therefore, you might want to farm an ION Cannon instead of the Kickcharger.

2. Backburner

The Backburner is a Vladof Launcher that shoots Lob-like orbs. On impact, it will create a singularity to pull enemies. For a few seconds, it spits out these mirv orbs dealing damage in the target area. These MIRV Orbs will be thrown in an upward arc and will fall close to the initial explosion.

The Backburner is good for bossing or taking down a tight group of enemies.

The BackBurner is Mayhem Mode 6 or higher Legendary. You can get it from Agonizer 9000 who is located in the Guts of Carnivora on Pandora.

1. Yellowcake

The Yellowcake is a COV Launcher that shoots a projectile in an arching trajectory. The projectile will split after a set distance and those projectiles will also split after a set distance.

Ideally, you want to hit your target at the moment the projectiles split for the second time. This way you deal the most damage as the projectiles are still close together and all impact the target.

The Yellowcake quickly became famous as the weapon accidentally double-dipped a few buffs. While Gearbox Software fixed their mistakes, the Yellowcake still wrecks.

The Yellowcake is a Revenge of the Cartels Legendary. You can get it from FISH SLAP!!!, Tyrone Smallums, and Joey Ultraviolet in Villa Ultraviolet during the Revenge of the Cartels Event.
