Best Legendary Snipers
There are a lot of legendary snipers rifles in Borderlands 3 but like any true Vault Hunter, you only want to best of the best. This weapons guide will tell you exactly which snipers you should have equipped in your inventory. So get ready to farm these babies:
7. Lyuda
The Lyuda is a Vladof Sniper Rifle that acts like an Assault Rifle that needs to wind up. Its main projectile will split into 3 projectiles mid-flight.
The Lyuda is best used for medium-range combat because there is a sweet spot where the 2 additional projectiles are still close to the main projectile making it easy to score 3 critical hits at once.
The Lyuda can be obtained from any loot source and is a guaranteed reward for completing all of Zero’s Target of Opportunity missions. But it also has a 50% chance to drop from Tremendous Rex who spawns in the Cistern of Slaughter.
5. Unseen Threat
The Unseen Threat is a Jakobs Sniper with a unique ricochet effect as critical hits will spawn 3 projectiles that preferably home in on the initial target.
This weapon really shines when you are able to score critical hits with it because then the special legendary effect kicks in and the damage starts to stack up.
The Unseen Threat can be obtained in the Guns, Love, and Tentacles DLC it drops from Amach who is located in Cursehaven on Xylourgas.
5. Krakatoa
The Krakatoa is a reference to the volcano, therefore, this weapon is only available in the fire element and will spawn a lava puddle when killing an enemy. These lava puddles are devastating and will occasionally spit out fireballs.
This Maliwan Sniper Rifle acts like a slow-firing automatic assault rifle after its initial charge-up. So once it’s going, you can deal some serious damage.
The Krakatoa can be randomly obtained from any loot source as a world drop but it has a 15% chance to drop from Tumorhead who can be farmed in Lectra City on Promethea.
4. Skullmasher
The Skullmasher is a Jakobs Sniper Rifle that fires a cluster of 5 bullets but will only cost 1 ammo per shot.
If you land all the critical hits, the Skullmasher outperforms its peers but this can be challenging due to its lower accuracy. Therefore, this weapon is best used at mid-range or against large enemies.
The Skullmasher is great because of its damage potential and high fire rate.
The Skullmasher can be obtained from any boss in the Guns, Love, and Tentacles DLC. It has an increased chance of dropping from Eista who is located in Skittermaw Basin on Xylourgos.
3. Wedding Invitation
The Wedding Invitation is one of the few elemental Jakobs weapons in Borderlands 3. Scoring a Critical Hit with this Jakobs Sniper will create a Fire explosion, ricochet a Cryo projectile, and return 1 ammo into your magazine.
The Fire explosion will deal +50% Fire and +25% Cryo Damage for 5 seconds, while the Cryo Ricochet will get +25% Fire and +50% Cryo Damage for 5 seconds.
Having two elements on one weapon is pretty cool and Cryo is a good elemental damage to have in Borderlands 3.
The Wedding Invitation could only be obtained from the Broken Hearts Day Event by breaking 100 hearts.
2. Sand hawk
The Sandhawk is a Dahl Sniper with a unique projectile pattern because this weapon fires a line of 7 bullets that mimic how a hawk flaps its wings.
This weapon can come with the Full-Auto, Semi-Auto, and Burst Fire firing modes. Ideally, you want a Sand Hawk with the Full-Auto & Semi-Auto firing modes because with Full-auto you actually have an SMG and with the Semi-Auto you have a sniper that can shoot as fast as an SMG.
The pellet spread on the Semi-Auto mode is pretty tight making it easier to land all projectiles.
The Sand Hawk is the best sniper in Borderlands 3 but is limited by its ammo capacity, therefore, it’s wise to have some sort of ammo regen in your build.
The Sand Hawk is Mayhem Mode 6 or higher Legendary. You can get it from Katagawa Jr. who is located in the Atlas HQ on Promethea.
1. Complex Root
The Complex Root is a Maliwan Sniper that shoots 2 projectiles after a 1-second charge up. The projectiles will spawn 13 new projectiles that zick-zack along the trajectory. These projectiles will explode on impact or after a set time has expired.
The Complex Root isn’t designed for long-range sniping as the projectiles don’t travel that far. Don’t use this weapon at close range as its splash damage will down you. Moze player beware of the Torgue Cross Promotion skill because this will boost the splash radius making it impossible to escape the splash damage.
The Complex Root is the most devastating sniper in Borderlands 3.
The Complex Root has an increased chance of dropping from Lani Dixon who is located in Ashfall Peaks on Gehenna. But this weapon can also ‘World Drop’ in the Bounty of Blood DLC.
