Borderlands 3 has a lot of customization options and one of the personal touches you can add are weapon trinkets. When Gearbox first revealed these little charms hanging off the side of your gun, I thought they were useless – well in some sense they are useless because they don’t add any bonuses – but now that I played the game, these trinkets do add a nice little personal touch. So… Gotta Catch ’em All
How to Equip Weapon Trinkets?
You collected 1 of the 82 weapon trinkets in Borderlands 3 and want to equip it to your gun, however, the game isn’t clear on how to achieve this. Here is a handy guide on how you can equip your weapons with a badass trinket.
- Open Your EchoMenu
- Navigate to the Backpack Tab that shows your inventory
- Interact with the small empty box to the left of your equipped weapons. Each weapon slot has its own Trinket slot.
- PC: Mouse Click or Press [E]
- PlayStation: Press (X)
- Xbox: Press (A)
- Select one of the trinkets from the new window which appeared on the opposite side of the screen
- Congrats, the empty box now displays the equipped trinket and it will show on your weapon
How to get Weapon Trinkets?
You don’t have any Trinkets at the start of Borderlands 3 but there are multiple ways to collect them.
- Loot Drops: Trinkets can drop randomly from any enemy or appear in loot chests.
- Complete Quets: A few missions in the game reward you with a Trinket.
- Crew Challenges: Completing Crew Challenges like sabotaging the Radio Towers for Moxxi.
- Slot Machine: The Loot Boxer slot machine in Moxxi’s Bar rewards a Trinket when landing on three “middle finger” icons.
- Crazy Earl’s Shop: Crazy Earl – who’s hiding behind a door in the Sanctuary III Cargo bay – sells trinkets and other cosmetic items for Eridium.
- Seasonal Events: Earn Trinkets by completing challenges within the Seasonal Event.
- Vault Cards: Borderlands 3: Director’s Cut added Vault Cards containing Trinkets and other cosmetic items.
- Cosmetic Pack: The Premium Cosmetic Packs also contain exclusive trinkets.
Do Weapon Trinkets Provide Buffs?
No Weapon Trinkets are purely cosmetic and don’t offer any stat bonuses to your Character’s Build.
