You are faced with a quick time event that will determine the life of Juniper at the end of Episode 2 of New Tales From The Borderlands. Anu, Octavio, and Fran have entered the Vault on Promethea and run into the Devourer – the Vault Monster – in chapter 4. Juniper tries to confront the Vault Monster during this encounter, however, as Anu tries to rescue Juniper from being devoured, you are challenged with a quick time event.
The quick time event is rigged because even if you manage to press the button in time, you will fail to rescue Juniper. The only way to successfully pull this off is when you have good team coordination. This means that your choices leading up to this event have impacted the outcome of this encounter.
Step-by-Step Guide to Rescue Juniper
You want to work towards a good Skateboard Score and build quality relationships between the characters. You want to go into this sequence with Anu having said “he’s adopted” when talking to Phoung about Octavio and you do NOT want Octavio saying “I’m not Anu’s robot” after you helped LOU13 assassinate his target.
How to increase team coordination and save Juniper in Episode 2 of New Tales From The Borderlands.
- Nice to see you, too
When Anu and Octavio first meet up at Fran’s Frogerts, tell Octavio it’s “nice to see you, too”. This is the lower dialogue option.
- This is the new me.
When Octavio comments about Anu’s appearance tell him; “This is the new me”. This is the right dialogue option.
- I’m Fran!
When Fran joins the conversation between Anu and Octavio, introduce her by saying; “I’m Fran!” This is the left dialogue option.
- Maybe you are different
When Fran judges Anu about being from Atlas say; “Maybe you are different” to her. This is the left dialogue option.
- He’s Mr. Not Stealing
Anu tells Fran that Octavio steels all the time. When Octavio seeks approval from Fran, tell Anu “He’s Mr. Not Steal”. This is the right dialogue option.
- [LIE] Damn teenagers
When the Tediore walky-talky (comms device) picks up a transmission, lie to Anu and it’s those “Damn Teenagers”. This is the left dialogue option.
- We can prevent deaths
After the discussion of the Tediore Comms Device, you need to convince Anu, and tell her “We can prevent deaths”. This is the left dialogue option.
- Do it for us
When Fran mentions that adventures don’t have happy endings, tell her; “Do it for us”. This is the lower dialogue option

When LOU13 introduces the Skateboard Score tell him “Thanks. I love this score!”. This is the left dialogue option.
