All the Gear that you find in Immortals of Aveum can be upgraded at the Forge. The first time you will be able to upgrade your gear is in Chapter 4 as you make your way to the Palathon. Captain Selko will instruct you to check out the Forge before the story continues. This is also how you gain access to the Deluxe DLC Items.
Upgrading gear increases the core stats and secondary stats of the item. Some items have secret stats that only unlock when the item is fully upgraded. The rarer an item is the more upgrades it has. Epic and Legendary items will gain additional upgrade slots in New Game+.
How to Upgrade Gear in Immortals of Aveum
- Access the Forge
You need to find and access a Forge on one of the maps in Immortals of Aveum. They are usually next to a Portal or near a critical point in the story.
- Select the Upgrade Tab
The Forge has 3 tabs, one for Crafting Gear, one for Upgrading Gear, and one for Deconstructing Gear. Select the Upgrade Tab.
- Select an item to upgrade
The items are grouped per Gear Type just like the Gear Tab in your Inventory Menu. Select the correct group and then your desired gear item.
- Check your resources
Upgrading an item will cost you resources (Gold and Essence). Make sure you have enough resources to upgrade the item. The game will give you an indication if you aren’t able to upgrade an item but it is likely you want to upgrade multiple items and you need to spread the distribution of your resources. Legendary Essence is a scarce resource so use it wisely.
- Hold to Confirm
You need to hold the confirm button for 2 seconds in order to upgrade the desired item. If done correctly a circle will fill up and a confirmation pop-up will appear on the screen.
