How does Chaos Gear work in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands
How does Chaos Gear work in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands’ end-game gameplay loop is all about acquiring Chaos Gear in the Chaos Chambers. Chaos Gear isn’t a new weapon rarity but are better versions of existing gear. This means that Legendary is still the highest rarity tier but a weapon can have a Chaos perk that increases the weapon’s base stats.

How to get Chaos Gear in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands?

You can get Chaos Gear by activating Chaos Levels. You can do this once you reached the Chaos Chambers. The Dragon Lord will have a dedicated Chaos Trial run for you. Every time you complete a Chaos Trial, you can increase your Chaos Level. This will not only make the game more difficult with each Chaos Level that you earn but also will increase the chance of getting more powerful gear. For example; Chaotic Gear unlocks at level 1 but only has a 3.85% chance to drop but once you reach level 20, the drop chance has increased to 28.17%.

When climbing that difficulty ladder you will get more and more Chaos Gear to help you reach that next milestone. Because at certain Chaos Levels new tiers of Chaos Gear will unlock as you progress through the Chaos Trials.

Chaos Gear Tiers

There are 4 tiers of Chaos Gear; Chaotic, Volatile, Primordial, and Ascended. The first two came with the base game, and the other tiers were added as post-launch content alongside the DLC drops. Each Chaos Gear Tier unlocks at a specific Chaos Level.

Chaos Levels

Chaos Levels will increase the game’s difficulty by making the enemies stronger. They will have increased health and deal more damage. However, with this added challenge, you will also gain additional rewards as you will get more loot.

Chaos Levels apply to the whole game and not just the Chaos Chambers. You can easily change your Chaos Level in the aura menu, there will be a new Chaos Mode tab once you unlock your first Chaos Level.
