When you start playing Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, you have a choice on how the loot is shared in your game. This setting is there when you play with other people in a multiplayer session. There are two choices; Cooperation and Coopetition. Each mode has its own advantages and disadvantages but don’t stress too much about it because you can always switch modes later on.
Which One to Pick
Cooperation
Every bit of loot that you will find in the game is instanced. This means that your teammates cannot take it away from you aka Ninjalooting. You can also play with anyone of any level at any time because all the enemies will scale to each individual player. So if you are LVL10 all the enemies will be LVL10 for you but if your friend is LVL 25 all the enemies they will encounter are LVL 25.

Coopetition
The game will scale to the level of the host. So if you are setting up the party, everything will scale to your character. This means that if your friend is under-leveled they will have a rough time but if they are overpowered it will be a swift breeze. This does create the opportunity to Power Level, if the highest LVL player hosts the lower LVL player can sit there and gain massive amounts of XP. The loot that drops during your play session is shared amongst all players. So if your co-op buddy picks it up first, no one else can grab it aka finder’s keepers.

Yes, head to the main menu and press Y/Triangle to access the multiplayer options menu (click the settings icon on PC). From here you can switch between Coopetition and Cooperation, though note that you cannot do so in-game.
