Borderlands The Hunt

The Hunt is a Community-Led Borderlands event that everyone can participate in. The goal of this Scavenger Challenge is to start a new character and try to collect specific gear as fast as possible. Because each item has a point value assigned to it, the player that manages to collect the most points or completes the farm list the fastest wins the event.

The  Hunt originated from the Borderlands 2 $100,000 Loot Hunt by Gearbox Software and 2K Games.  During that promotional event, the community was tasked to kill specific enemies each day. Those enemies would drop an enhanced version of their dedicated drop and if the community reached a set number of kills, a special reward was given to the community.

Ganza, a Borderlands Community Member, wasn’t able to participate during the whole $100,000 Loot Hunt and wanted to complete the list during his Twitch Stream. after the Borderlands 2 event ended. This became something his community lashed onto and therefore Ganza challenged himself a year later to run the event again.

Other Community leaders picked up on this Scavenger Challenge and started helping to organize this community-led Borderlands Event. The Hunt was Born and became a Charity Event that raises money and awareness for St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
