About D374-TP Wallpaper
This D374-TP (DeathTrap) Wallpaper comes from the old archive (April 23, 2012), it was made when gearbox first showed of the concept art of the Mechromancer. Because the artwork was made in black and white i didn’t know what to expect so i started painting it in. Because the image gave me a robust look & feel i started adding more dark colors. I thought this wasn’t going to be a shiny robot, the final form of DeathTrap ended up way more colorful than i expected back then. For this wallpaper i wanted to give DeathTrap a grant entrance giving the impression of a mighty machine was going to wreck things up. You know those badass introductions in anime as the camera pans up during a close up and the dust/fog is shifting away introducing the hero. I wanted to go for that kinda look. As he doesn’t have any wheels or legs this bot was going to hover above the ground, so enough excuses to do the dust particles. Behind all this fog i added the early concept art of Gaige creating a bit of a mystery around the unknown vault hunter back then.
