Maya is one of the few Sirens in the Borderlands Universe. She is one of the playable Vault Hunters in Borderlands 2. As a young child Maya was given to the Order of the Impending Storm where she learn to use her Siren skills. When she had grown older the monks presented her to be a goddess and savior of the people. Later Maya eventually realized that the Order was using her as a threat to extort money and obedience from the people. Curious of her origin Maya traveled to Pandora to find out more about being a Siren.
When i started making Borderlands 2 wallpapers i made a few that featured all four starting Vault Hunters, Axton, Maya, Salvador & Zero. I thought it was time to create some Borderlands Wallpapers centered around a single character. Because i played as Lilith the Siren in the original Borderlands my preference went to Maya to start making some neat fanart. That turned out into something like this Maya wallpaper. Fans even started asking about making it in different colors, like Pink & Orange. When i managed to acquire some new character renders i thought it would be cool to update the first Maya Wallpaper with a new character pose. Now transferring this Borderlands Wallpaper from my deviantart to my own website i remastered this fanart and added some more sizes than the basic 1920×1080 from back then.
