I wanted to make an awesome Borderlands 4 Wallpaper that showcases the Eridian controlling everything in the Borderlands universe. So one day I stumble upon the War of the Worlds movie poster that depicts these alien tentacles keeping the earth in its grasp. I felt inspired and challenged to see if I could make that work in the Borderlands universe.
I started glitching the BL3 Photomode camera out of Sanctuary to screenshot the Planet Pandora. Then I visited the Guardian at one of the Proving Grounds and took screenshots from its hand. While the angle of the arm was good, the Guardian didn’t have its fingers in the correct position to actually hold something, therefore, I photoshopped a few new fingers and we are good to go.
I had to add some effects to blend the hand into the scene. Yes, there is the obvious drop shadow but also some color spills from the environment back onto the hand.
