About The Witcher 3 Wallpaper
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is an action role-playing game developed by Polish CD Projekt RED that takes place in an open world environment. This is the third game in the series, preceded by The Witcher and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, which are based on the series of fantasy novels of the same title by the Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, but all take place after them. If you are looking into playing The Witcher 3 it’s not demanded that you have to play the first two games in order to fully enjoy this game. Each action that the player does will affect the world; every quest has a plethora of options on how to complete it, and every outcome is different each time.
When researching into this game i wasn’t sure what to make of this wallpaper. I didn’t had a clear vision in mind on what i wanted to create. After finding some renders and artwork i started with a basic layout. A Panorama shot of one of the beautiful environments from the game. But i didn’t want to do a hard line (crossover) between the environment image and the background. So the idea of creating a smokey transition prompted into my head. After working on the idea i thought i wouldn’t get it to fit with the rest of the wallpaper. Still no clue on what i had to do with the rest of the space i started layering in the main character from the Witcher 3, Geralt. I noticed that the character render had some fire particles on his pants from the original artwork. So i started adding this effect to my the witcher 3 wallpaper. Making the fore and background more seamless i added some fog, enhancing the smokey transition that i created. After noticing that some of my fire particles didn’t match up i wanted to recolor them but i had the wrong effect in place. This resulted in turning all the fog in one big fire mass, enhancing this effect with a different layer gave this wallpaper a great deal of contrast.
